SWAC Basketball Tournament Tickets Online!
CEU will host the 2010 SWAC Basketball Tournament, March 4-6, in the BDAC on CEU Price campus. Tickets and information are available online.
Men's Basketball - North and Southern Idaho here this Weekend

Feb. 5th – The last two times these two teams met were overtime thrillers with each team etching out a win. It was sweet surprise to see CEU dominate right from the start and never let CSI threaten at all. By the first media break the home team already on the verge of a double digit lead, CEU 13 CSI 4. With 9:25 left CEU gets it’s double digit lead CEU23 CSI 11, at 4:56 CEU 32 CSI 19. Just before half CSI makes a small run and cuts into the lead, Half Time CEU 40 CSI 32 – Second Half starts out the same as the beginning of the game with CEU dominating and not looking back. First media break CEU jumps out to a 20 point lead and maintains their distance for the rest of the game, CEU 67 CSI 47 – Second Media Break – CEU 78 CSI 59, at 3:53 CEU 80 CSI 64, FINAL SCORE EU 91 CSI 73. Five players score double digits with Vander Jorquim making his presence felt in the middle scoring 18 points (8/10) and grabbing 8 rebounds. The CEU inside game was a big factor as forward Michael Glover scores 17 points and forward Jonathan Mills scores 16 (7/11)and records his 9th double/double with 13 Rebounds. The inside trio accounted for nearly 60% of the offense in the paint. This greatly enhanced the outside game as Nick Thompson scores 14 (7/9) from one wing and Isiah Williams scores 13 (3/7) treys from the other wing. Point guard Cliff Colimon plays solid running the offence scoring 7 points and 4 assists. CEU as a team shoots 57.6% from the field.

Feb. 6th - First place North Idaho is in the BDAC and CEU fans were in for another great game. The first media break finds the home team down by 4 points as the Cardinals hit the offensive glass hard, CEU 17 NIC 21. Still playing catch up at the second media break CEU can’t catch the visitors, CEU 22 NIC 27. The last 2 minutes of the first half was all CEU as they turn the tables and go up by one point. Half Time score: CEU 35 NCI 34. Second half was a classic as at first neither team can put distance between each other but by the first media break the home team makes some defensive stops and sustains a small four lead, CEU 46 NIC 42 CEU is still in control at the second media break and clinging to a three point lead, CEU 60 NIC 57. The game came down to who would step up and finish and the home team did indeed step up as they extend their lead for the win. FINAL SCORE CEU 76 NIC 66. The Golden Eagles shoot 50% from the field and make 73.9% of their free throws, they also out rebound the visitors by 18 (45/27). Michael Glover scores 16 on 5/9 FGs and 6/7 FTs with 8 rebounds. Isiah Williams scores 15 on 5/10 FGs including 3/6 treys and 2/4 FTs. Jonathan Mills with his 10th double/double scores 14 on 5/9 FGs and 4/7 FTs and 10 rebounds. Vander Jorquim scores 10 points on 5/8 shooting. Point guard Cliff Colimon scores 9 points and dishes out 6 assists.

Women's Basketball – North and Southern Idaho here this Weekend

Feb. 5th - The home team has a great start and by the first media break CEU hangs on to a small four point lead, CEU 13 CSI 9. CSI flexed their muscles as they stormed back and by the second media break CSI stretches out to a double digit lead, CEU 16 CSI 30. Half Time score CEU 28 CSI 42, EU’s Kaylie Robison 8 points 4/6 shooting, no free throws for home team CSI 9/12 free throws. Second half saw CEU battling to cut into the lead and at times looking as though they were going to make it close. CSI had an answer to all CEU’s runs. At the 7:27 mark CEU 47 CSI 69. FINAL SCORE EU 65 CSI 86 EU’s Kaylie Robison continues to play well as she fought hard inside the paint on her way to scoring 27 points (13/20), and grabbing 6 rebounds. Bruna Deichmann also working hard slicing to the basket and making shots off her pull up jumper scores 11 points. Libby Alon and McKenda Hill score 7 points each. Savana Gines coming off the bench pushed the ball well on early offense and was able to dish out 8 assists. CEU did get free throws in the second half and made the best of it as they go 8/10 from the line.

Feb. 6th - There would be no argument that this conference has some of the better players in the junior college system. CEU is very lucky to have one of them playing here in the post position. Every game Kaylie Robison while on offense has to endure defensive double teams and then turnaround on the other end of the court and defend some of the conference’s best players. This weekend the sophomore from Sandy, Utah in two games shot 15/40 for 62.5% and grab 20 rebounds. She scored 27 points against CSI and against NIC followed it up with 29 points. This game CEU stays close as the first media break starts the home team is only down 4 points, CEU 09 NIC 13. At the second media break the first place cardinal team extends their lead to 8 points, CEU 20 NIC 28. Half Time score CEU 33 NCI 43. The second half both teams played evenly and as the game winds down to 40 seconds left on the clock CEU cuts the lead to just 6 points forcing NIC to call multiple time outs. The comeback falls short as NIC makes free throws and holds CEU back. Bruna Deichmann scores 14 points including 6-6 from the free throw line. When Robison was resting Maddie Hind stepped in and scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. The point guards combined dished out 11 assists as Libby Alon scores 7 points with her 5 assists and Savana Gines collects the other 6. The team shoots 81.8% free throws keeping the game close. FINAL SCORE CEU 69 NIC 80

Region 18 Basketball Championships Come to CEU in March!
Both Men’s and Women’s teams will be in action as CEU will host the Region 18 Tournament. It will be a 12 team single elimination format over 3 days. Reserved your calendar for March 4th thru March 6th and check back for ticket information.
