Grants for Licensed Providers
Family Provider Start-Up Grant - Part 1 - Information & Application
The Office of Child Care and CCR&R Eastern has funding available for individuals wishing to obtain a Family Child Care License (Residential Certificate providers may not apply). Up to $350 is reimbursed to providers to cover the costs of initial licensing fees and expenses. The grant is a reimbursement after the expenses have already been incurred and you have received your license. You will need to keep receipts from purchases all you make which are required by Licensing such as:
- Bureau
of Licensing fees and City/County Business License fees
- Fire & kitchen inspection fees, fire extinguishers, and smoke detectors
- First aid kits
- First Aid, CPR, Food Handlers Certification, and T.B. Test
- CCR&R Basic Child Care class fee
In order to receive this Start-up Grant you will be required to send us:
- A grant application form.
- Copies of the receipts for your expenses.
- A copy of the certificate showing that you have completed the Basic Child Care course.
- A copy of your new child care license.
Family Provider Start-Up Grant - Part 2 - Information & Application
The Part 2 Grant is available to 'first-time' licensed family child care providers. You may request this grant any time during your first year of becoming licensed. Providers may choose up to $250 worth of toys and materials from the list determined by the provider and a CCR&R Eastern staff member during a site visit. These items are awarded to providers to enhance the quality of their programs and environments. Providers will be able to select quality materials from an Early Childhood Supply catalog.
In order to receive the materials, you will need to:
- Complete 10 hours of training (one Career Ladder class Level 1-3).
- Have a CCR&R Eastern Staff member schedule and conduct a site visit.
- Submit application, copy of your license, your order form.
- Remain licensed during the grant period.

TEAM Grant
The TEAM (Training Endorsement Application Materials) Grant is designed to support Licensed Family and Family Group child care providers in applying the information and concepts learned during training classes into their programs and to help them offer meaningful learning experiences to all of the children in their care. Recipients of TEAM grants receive kits filled with developmentally appropriate and safe materials that target the needs of young learners. To be eligible for TEAM Grants the license holder and/or assistant caregivers should:
- Have
a current State of Utah Family Child Care License.
- Be
licensed for a minimum of 12 months.
- Complete
a Utah Career Ladder Endorsement Courses (40 hours) and/or complete 40
hours of consultation with your CCR&R Family Provider Program
Consultant.
- Submit a completed TEAM Application.
You will have the opportunity to choose from the following TEAM Grants:

- Equipment TEAM Grant
- Infant Toddler TEAM Grant
- Literacy TEAM Grant
- Math & Science TEAM Grant
- Nature TEAM Grant
- Outdoor TEAM Grant
- Special Needs TEAM Grant
