High School Summary
There are some basic tips to consider for scholarship applications for most colleges and here are some specifics for the public institutions in Utah.
First off there is one question all students should ask themselves before they attend college – What do I want to be at the end of my college experience?
Utah has worked hard to create something that will benefit its students in their educational needs. One of the best sites I have used is the latest revision of Utah Mentor now called Utah Futures ( http://www.utahfutures.org/ ) and is incorporated into our state-wide educational system.
Here are some links to help you answer the questions of what do I like and what kind of a job will there be for me:

Federal Aid – Why do I need to apply for Federal Aid if I want a scholarship?
There is a growing demand for students to complete the FAFSA prior to getting an institutional award. This is because if a student qualifies for Federal Aid the schools can include this in their estimate of the student’s resources and will allow them to better use their limited dollars.

It is important to know there are sites out there that will charge you up to $70 for something you can do for free.
Scholarships – There are scholarships for everyone you just have to know where to look.

There are other sites out there to find schools and scholarships but you need to be careful. There are places that will charge you for scholarship opportunities, not guaranteed dollars. If a site or scholarship is asking for money you need to determine if you are able to afford it and are willing to spend this on a chance.
CollegeNet is one of many trusted sites that can give you access to college searches,
college admission applications, and scholarship opportunities.
