GEAR UP is a partnership project involving the College of Eastern Utah, Carbon County School District, and Emery County School District.

Our office is located in the JLSC building, Room 223, on the College of Eastern Utah Campus in Price, Utah.

GEAR UP currently has approximately 4 tutors, 4 liaisons, and 100 enrolled students participating.

The GEAR UP program coordinator is Brenda Rawson with Melinda Swink as the Assistant Coordinator. Rebecca Norris is the Financial Officer.

There are currently four schools participating in GEAR UP in our area; Carbon High School, Lighthouse Learning Center, Green River High School, and Pinnacle High School.

Select Carbon and Emery County students who started grades 8-12 in September 2006 will be eligible for services until they complete high school. On-going individual assessments are done to determine the changing needs of students. Students receive GEAR UP services in the school that they attend. There is never a fee for participating in GEAR UP; it is a grant program funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
