Tutoring Guidelines
GEAR UP TUTORING GUIDELINES

This is to be a study hall for GEAR UP students; a place to complete and get help with homework.

Tutors are not here to discipline students; a student will be asked to leave the room if he or she is causing a distraction, and no GEAR UP attendance will be recorded for that day for the student. A note will be placed in the student’s file regarding the incident, and if it continues, the student will be released from the GEAR UP Program.

No music on computers, boom boxes, mp3’s, etc.

No playing games on computers, handhelds or cell phones.

Cell phones must be set on vibrate and no text messaging.

No food or drinks except water or juice.

No romantic contact between students in the tutoring room.

Non-GEAR UP students are not allowed in the GEAR UP tutoring room during tutoring sessions.

GEAR UP students MUST sign in and out on the attendance sheets. If you fail to do so, there will be no record of you attending, and you will not receive credit for attending the session.
