Dance
The College of Eastern Utah Dance Department allows students to train with equal emphasis in ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop dance technique. Our dance courses include Ballet I, Ballet II/ Pointe, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, Improvisation/ Choreography, Dance in Culture, and Dance Ensemble.
There are two major Dance Ensemble performances per year; a seasonal dance concert at the end of the fall semester and a spring concert at the end of the academic year. These concerts provide a professional performance environment and an opportunity for student performers to display their talent. Students in this ensemble perform choreography created by CEU Dance faculty and guest artists. All dance students are invited to audition for Dance Ensemble performances.
Dance scholarships are available to dedicated and reliable students who fully participate in department classes and performances. A very large, inviting dance studio in the Bunnell-Dmitrich Athletic Center (BDAC) houses all classes and rehearsals. A smaller studio on the second floor in the BDAC is available to dance students to use for class work or rehearsing.
CEU has a periodic need for Adjunct Faculty in all styles of dance. Bachelor's Degree mandatory. Please contact Dance Department Chair, Melissa Anast (435-613-5356), for more information.
