Public Notice of Upcoming Accreditation Review Visit by the NLNAC
Announcement
USU Eastern Associate Degree Program wishes to announce that it will host a site review for continuing accreditation.
You are invited...
At USU Eastern, nursing theory is correlated with knowledge from the biological, physical, and the behavioral sciences. NANDA domains and nursing diagnoses are used to plan and implement nursing care utilizing the nursing process. Qualified nurse educators guide students in theory, laboratory practice, and clinical experiences utilizing acute care hospitals, extended care facilities, clinics, home and other health related environments. The program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, Georgia 30326 and is approved by the Utah State Board of Nursing.
Students have two options in nursing education. Students can attend one year of classes to obtain a Certificate of Completion in Practical Nursing for LPN licensure, and enter the job market; or if they are interested and qualified, can obtain an Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing for RN licensure. Currently licensed LPN's who choose to continue their nursing education can also apply for entrance into the associate degree program. Enrollment is limited and competitive.
The programs are offered at three campuses. The Price and San Juan Campuses have both the practical nursing and associate degree nursing options. USU Eastern offers the associate degree in nursing for graduates of the Uintah Basin Applied Technical College practical nursing program and LPNs who desire additional nursing education. This program is offered on the UBATC/USU Uintah Basin, Vernal campus.
