Safe Access of CEU Premises

Before accessing CEU premises

The following chapters refer to phases 2 and 3 of the Austrian pandemic risk management methodology.

We are committed to your health and to the health of the entire CEU community, and we advise you to stay home and work remotely, unless your work demands it, or it is absolutely necessary to come to CEU premises. Please explore online and other alternatives to avoid physically entering the site, unless you are teaching or attending classes, or are otherwise required for on-site work with your full or partial presence.

Please note the following regarding campus entry:

  • CEU Students, Faculty (including visiting), Staff, Affiliates and Alumni with a valid CEU ID card can access the university via the security gates at Quellenstrasse 51 main entrance.
  • Visitors of employees and students can enter the campus by registration only and External Members of the Library may not enter campus buildings until further notice.

Accessing the premises

From May 19, CEU community can access the campus by using “Green Pass” or showing their immunity status:

  • either vaccination (valid from day 22 after the first shot), or
  • negative covid-test (valid up to 48 hrs), or
  • proof of recovery from a covid infection in the last 6 months, or
  • the proof of antibodies, valid for up to 3 months as confirmed by a medical certificate.

Anyone entering the campus is expected to adhere to all preventative measures detailed in this protocol and displayed on posters placed in prominent locations around the building. Campus security personnel are authorized to check compliance and can remove anyone who is found not adhering to the safety regulations.

Upon entering the campus one can check their temperature in the lobby of the campus using either at the standing thermometers or asking our security guards to use handheld thermometers. Please avoid forming queues in front of the standing units.

To minimize interpersonal contact, departments and administrative units that maintain open hours for students or employees are advised to request advance appointment for in-person visits.

Externals (walk-ins) are not allowed to enter beyond the security gates, nor to use the toilets in the building.

Campus Hygiene

Face cover (mask) is mandatory for admittance to CEU premises. You are expected to use the hand sanitizers on site and to wash your hands regularly—following the posted guidelines—in the washrooms. When touching commonly used surfaces, e.g.: kitchen, elevator, doorknobs, we expect that you wash your hands frequently, avoid touching own face, cough/sneeze in your shoulders or elbows (not in hands). Certain common office equipment is removed to reduce contact: e.g., cutlery, sponges for washing up – read more on this under "Kitchen" in Keeping Safe While on Campus. Please bring such items with you if you need them and do not leave them in shared spaces.

Traffic in the entrance hall and in the stairways is clearly marked by direction (using markings and arrows on the floor. Stand-alone and wall disinfection dispensers are mounted in areas before you pass through the security gates. Equipment for temperature check is available at the Front Desk upon request for temperate measurement on the spot.

Please note that anyone coming to campus is expected to provide their own gloves and masks and will be provided with spare ones only as an exceptional measure if case they forget to bring one. If we monitor the misuse of this spare option by individuals, we will consider charging a small price for these masks.

To protect the Front Desk personnel as well as the individuals consulting the Front Desk, plexi glass protection is mounted in the reception area.
