Postgraduate Opportunity Scholarship

The Postgraduate Opportunity Scholarship is made possible through an endowed fund contributed by anonymous donors, with the belief that education is essential to liberty and democracy and should be accessible to any student who has the ability and commitment, regardless of financial resources. Up to nine awards will be available annually.

The Postgraduate Opportunity Scholarship is open to students pursuing a Master’s at CEU and who are citizens of any of the 30 eligible countries, primarily located within Central & Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. To be considered for this scholarship, applicants need to:

  • Fulfill all of the application requirements of their chosen degree program.
  • Hold citizenship from an eligible country (full list below*).
  • Submit a completed CEU application.
  • Submit a completed Financial Aid application form.

Beyond the formal criteria, it was the donors’ wish that any students who benefit from the scholarship fund will remember this support, and at some time in their life, help a young person in a similar way.

Awardees accepted for a two-year Master’s program are automatically eligible to receive continued scholarship funding, provided the previous year is completed in good standing.

*Eligible countries include: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
