Here we outline the process for accepted candidates from the moment they are notified about their acceptance via the Applicant Portal up to their actual arrival to CEU.
STEP 1: ACCEPTANCE OFFER
Acceptance Offers are published on the Applicant Portal (official name: study agreement, see attached template). Once you receive an offer, please make sure to read it carefully, as it stipulates terms and conditions of the study offer, including program length, required fees, the documents you need to submit, etc.
You then have the option to either accept the offer or decline it ("Respond to Offer").
Click on “Respond to offer”, select the appropriate response option and, in case you accept the offer, pay the registration fee AND print out the document, sign it and upload it onto the Document section of the Applicant Portal.
Please note: The Acceptance Offer cannot be used for visa application purposes. The CEU Admissions Office issues a separate document to those students who require a study visa (see also Step 3).
STEP 2: REGISTRATION FEE
Every candidate accepted to CEU is to pay a registration fee of EUR 100 in order to confirm their acceptance of the study offer. Candidates can accept their offer and pay the registration fee via the Applicant Portal. Your place of study is only confirmed once the registration fee payment has reached CEU.
For accepted candidates who have confirmed their place of study but do not enroll after all, the registration fee is non-refundable.
STEP 3: VISA APPLICATION (FOR NON-EU/EEA CITIZENS)
Accepted candidates who are citizens of countries that are not part of the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) and who do not hold a permanent residency permit in the EU/EEA area need to apply for a residency permit or study visa (read detailed guidelines here). The CEU Admissions Office provides a "confirmation of acceptance for visa purposes" sent to the accepted candidates by email. For further information read our detailed guidelines.
Citizens of EU/EEA member states may travel to Austria without a study visa. However they need to obtain a registration card for the duration of the studies in Austria. For more information please visit the relevant section of the CEU Online Orientation.
STEP 4: ACADEMIC RECORDS AND STUDY AGREEMENT
In order to be able to enroll and start their studies at CEU, accepted candidates must submit their academic documents to the CEU Admissions Office no later than July 31, 2023. Electronic submission of these document is encouraged. If you need to submit official hard copies, please find our mailing address in Vienna here. (If you received a study agreement that had to be printed and signed by hand, please also submit a hard copy of that with your original signature on it. This does not apply to study agremeents signed by DocuSign.)
STEP 5: PAYMENT OF FEES AND ONBOARDING
Please refer to our fee payment schedule and fee refund policy. Payments shall be made via the Onboarding Platform of the SITS e:Vision portal (to open in late July.)
STEP 6: ARRIVAL AT CEU
Please see here for helpful information about arrival and enrollment. (Please note that every degree program of CEU is on-site and requires the student’s presence on campus during each academic term or teaching module. Any anticipated delay on the student’s part must be reported to the Admissions Office and the academic department as soon as possible.)
