A paper by Stefan Messmann, Head, Department of Legal Studies, and Tibor Tajti, Professor, Department of Legal Studies, titled “The Case Law of Central and Eastern Europe: Enforcement of Contracts—Editors' Introduction,” was recently listed on the Social Science Research Network’s (SSRN) Top Ten Download List for Comparisons of More Than 5 Countries. Since December 30, 2010, the paper has been downloaded 66 times.
Stefan Messmann explained that the uniqueness of this two-volume, 1077-page book lies in the fact that each chapter was written by CEU students. The 14 students, who are all part of either the SJD or the LLM streams, volunteered to do after-class research on the topic of enforcement of contract in their own countries. The 70-80 pages of research were then edited by Stefan Messmann and Tibor Tajti. “This project is special because a book such as this has not yet been created at CEU. Furthermore, the fact that it made into the top 10 download list makes it even more exciting and a worthwhile effort.”

SSRN is devoted to the rapid worldwide dissemination of social science research and is composed of a number of specialized research networks in each of the social sciences. Each of the networks encourages the early distribution of research results and solicits and publishes abstracts of top quality research papers from around the world. Hundreds of journals, publishers and institutions provide abstracts for publication in SSRN's electronic journals and working papers for distribution through SSRN’s eLibrary, which has delivered over 41.3 million downloads to date and grown to over 314,000 documents from 149,000 authors. The networks encourage readers to communicate directly with authors and other subscribers concerning their own and others' research.
