Hungarian Environment Minister and CEU Faculty Receives Honorary Fellowship

Zoltan Illes, Hungary’s state secretary of environmental protection, nature conservation and water management, has recently been made an Honorary Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) at a ceremony which took place at the Hungarian Embassy in London on September 6. As well as having a successful parliamentary career, Dr. Illes is an associate professor of the CEU Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy, and adjunct professor at the Godollo University of Agricultural Sciences. He is involved with various environmental, nature conservation and wildlife protection organizations. IChemE chief executive David Brown says: “We always say that chemical engineers can be found in high places and Zoltan Illes is another example of this. We are delighted to recognize the important contribution he has made on European environmental matters and welcome him to our global chemical engineering community.”
