European Commission Publishes Guide to Communicating About Research Projects

The European Commission recently published "Communicating EU Research & Innovation - A Guide for Project Participants," a tool for researchers to better communicate about projects under the 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development. The short guide gives examples of successful communication activities, offers a word of warning about commercial organizations seeking to sell their dissemination services, and provides an elaborate checklist to help develop a sound communication strategy. It also outlines researchers’ legal requirements and expectations as well as ways the European Commission itself can help increase outreach, for example by publicizing events and results via its websites.
