A team of CEU Business School MBA students became divisional champions in the Intercollegiate Business Ethics Case Competition (IBECC) held in San Diego, California, May 8 to 10. Aswad Harris, William Lloyd, Virginia Mocsai, and Sarat Sarngadharan, students in the full-time MBA program, beat teams from prominent business schools including IESE, INSEAD, Warwick, the University of Oxford, and Simon Fraser University. IBECC is the oldest and most recognized business ethics competition of its kind.
Peter Hardi, professor of business ethics and corporate social responsibility at CEU Business School mentored the team. Hardi is also director of the Business School’s Center for Integrity in Business and Government and Center for Business and Society.
CEU’s winning case described a fictional scenario the team created based on an actual North American mining company. The team developed recommendations to steer the company toward a more ethical path by overhauling its policies and activities that affect the environment.
