According to the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) rankings, released Feb. 26, CEU’s programs in politics and international studies, as well as philosophy, scored among the best in the world again in 2014. CEU is the only university in Hungary with programs among the top 100 in the 2014 subject rankings.
In the subject of politics and international studies, represented at CEU by the Department of Political Science, the Department of International Relations and European Studies, and the Department of Public Policy, CEU ranked in the 51-100 category. QS does not assign specific rankings beyond 50. Other universities in this category include George Washington University, Universite de Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne, and University of St. Andrews. Among Hungarian universities, the University of Szeged, University of Debrecen, Budapest Technical University and Eotvos Lorand Tudomanyegyetem (ELTE) had programs that ranked in the top 100-200.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject were created in response to a demand for more detail than provided by the company’s overall rankings, which are released in the fall each year.
