De Villota Gives Lecture on Investing in Art at CEU Business School

As part of a program sponsored by the Spanish Embassy and the Cervantes Institute in Budapest, Alejandro de Villota gave a lecture entitled “Art Nature Vs Nurture: A Different Perspective on Investing in Art” at CEU Business School recently. De Villota spoke of his unique perspective as the youngest member of a family of renowned painters dating back centuries, admitting that he himself is not a painter. Instead, filled with a passion for the arts, he decided to embark on a mission promoting the special meaning and value of art. He discussed the business and economic considerations of art as a commodity centering on a financial investment value, devoid of the true spiritual value of the work itself.
