Spat Discusses the Importance of Saving the Yezidi Culture - Hungarian news portal interviewed CEU Researcher Eszter Spat about how the Yezidi, this previously little known ethnicity suddenly came to the attention of entire world. Eszter Spat obtained her doctoral degree at CEU in 2009. In her research, she examines the role of the Yezidi religion in the Kurdish movement, the impact of modernity and Kurdish nationalism on Yezidi identity as well as the changes of the Yezidi oral traditions and religious institutions in Northern Iraq.
