CEU Alumna Lidia Balogh on Prostitution in Hungary and Abroad

Hungarian economic and political weekly HVG carries an interview with equal opportunities researcher and CEU Department of Nationalism Studies Alumna Lidia Balogh (NAT’ 09). She joined the team of the Foundation for the Women of Hungary (MONA) in 2004. She participated, with others, in programs aimed at the enforcement of the human rights of migrant women and actions against prostitution. As an assistant research fellow at the Institute of Law of the Research Center of Social Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, her research area is anti-discrimination and the protection of minorities. In the framework of the program of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, she is the head of the Hungarian research group on fundamental rights. She also works as an expert for the Hungarian Women’s Lobby grouping together several advocacy organizations that she chaired for some time as well.
