“Future of Holocaust Memorialization” Conference Book Published

CEU Associate Professor of Gender Studies Andrea Peto, along with her colleague Helga Thorson (University of Victoria in Canada), recently edited "The Future of Holocaust Memorialization: Confronting Racism, Antisemitism, and Homophobia through Memory Work," published by the Tom Lantos Institute. The book follows last year's CEU conference on the same topic, part of CEU's commemoration of the 70-year anniversary of the Holocaust. The volume focuses on current practices in teaching the Holocaust and considers the potential of Holocaust memorialization and memory work to serve as a catalyst for addressing discrimination today by exploring different innovative teaching practices in higher education as well as bold and creative civic and institutional initiatives. Contributing authors come from across Europe and North America and their work showcases new directions in Holocaust education and commemoration.
