Research Fellow Erno Teglas of CEU’s Cognitive Development Center has been awarded a €1.5 million European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant for his project entitled “Precursors of logical reasoning in human infants.” This makes CEU’s Department of Cognitive Science the most successful research institute in Europe with six ERC grants.
ERC has selected 328 scientists to receive its prestigious Starting Grants, worth up to €2 million each. This first Starting Grant competition under the EU's Horizon 2020 program, and the seventh to date, awards €485 million to early-career talent to develop their ambitious high-risk, high-gain research projects in any field. The call attracted 3,273 applications and the grants were awarded to researchers of 38 nationalities, hosted in 180 different institutions throughout Europe.
