CEU Hosts First Ever Habilitation Procedure

The Habilitation Committee and the Department of History at CEU held its first-ever habilitation procedure at the University on June 8. Ulrich L. Lehner from Marquette University, Milwaukee held a classroom lecture entitled “Demons, Devils and the Divine: Trent and the Catholic Enlightenment” and an academic lecture entitled “Klosterkerker als neuer Forschungshorizont fur Gender-, Rechts- und Sozialgeschichte.” The Review committee consisted of Gyorgy Endre Szonyi, visiting professor in the Departments of History and Medieval Studies at CEU,  Aziz Al-Azmeh, university professor in the Department of Medieval Studies at CEU, Gabriella Erdelyi, senior research fellow in the Institute of History of the Research Centre for Humanities of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Andras Forgo, assistant professor at Peter Pazmany Catholic University, Gabor Klaniczay, university professor in the Department of Medieval Studies at CEU, and Laszlo Kontler, professor in the Department of History and pro-rector for Social Sciences and Humanities & Hungarian Affairs at CEU.
