Doctoral Student Szabo Publishes about Budapest’s 8th District

Linda Szabo, doctoral student in the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology, wrote a summary about the hundred-year history of Budapest’s 8th district, the most deprived part of the Hungarian capital.  Szabo has been doing research focusing on the interplay between urban restructuring and ethnic diversity in a Central Eastern European context. Her article, “How the redevelopment of Jozsefváros is pushing out Budapest’s minorities,” was published in the recent issue of “State of the World’s Minorities and Indigenous Peoples 2015: Events of 2014” by Minority Rights Group International (MRG).
