Women and the Refugee Crisis: On the Ground, On the Move, Making Change

The event explored the female refugee experience from various angles including gender-specific issues like harassment and sexual violence to the empowerment of women at risk through writing about their experiences during conflicts. Speakers included Lidia Balogh, social science researcher/equal opportunities expert, Luca Laszlo, president of “Let's Help Refugees," H.E. Marie Antoinette Sedin, Palestinian Ambassador to Hungary and winner of a Knights of Malta commendation for her volunteer work at Keleti Train Station, and Montserrat Feixas Vihe, UNHCR Regional Representative for Central Europe.
