At the end of the first application cycle, the Student Recruitment Office reports a continuing rise in overall applications by CEU’s first and primary deadline of February 4, 2016. CEU saw an overall increase of about 9% compared to last February’s figures. This follows a substantial growth of 40% in application numbers in academic year 2014-2015.
Applications were received from as many as 137 countries by February 2016, with Hungary and the United States remaining the top two source countries. However, there is a considerable rise in applications from North America, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa as well as Australia and Africa.
Self-financing master's candidates can still apply for the next academic year by May 3, 2016. Therefore, the Student Recruitment Office expects to see a further but possibly more moderate increase until the final deadline.
The Recruitment Office wishes to thank CEU’s academic departments, alumni and current students, and CEU’s Local Area Coordinators for their invaluable cooperation and contribution to the future student body of the university by promoting CEU within their networks.
