Intellectual Themes Initiative – Third Call for Proposals

CEU academic staff members are invited to submit proposals for new teaching, research, or community engagement projects starting in AY 16/17 under the third call of the Intellectual Themes Initiative. The Fall deadline for submission of project proposals is October 26, 2016. A revised call and application form are attached and also available online on the ITI website at: www.ceu.edu/iti/calls-proposals

Background of the initiative:

CEU has launched the Intellectual Themes Initiative (ITI) to support new and innovative projects that would help bring together various parts of the University. The initiative encourages cross-disciplinary activities in the areas of teaching, research, and civic engagement, which are building on the existing strengths of the University while enhancing its academic profile, shaping its future institutional direction, and helping to better project CEU externally. The initiative is built around themes that serve as federative platforms encompassing a range of activities. The themes are:

·         Social Mind

·         Inequalities and Social Justice

·         Energy and Society

·         Governance

Groups of faculty, researchers, and students are invited to submit proposals under one of the four themes. Priority will be given to projects that have a high potential impact of intellectual, professional, educational, or social nature. An initial budget of EUR 100,000 per year per theme (a total of EUR 400,000 per year) has been allocated.
