What’s your favorite Hungarian food? Töltött káposzta (stuffed cabbage) and vinetta (eggplant-cream, Transylvanian style)
What’s your favorite quote or idiom? An intellectual is a man who takes more words than necessary to tell more than he knows.
What do you like to do best on Sundays? In principle, to go for an excursion and then to theater. In practice, to lie on the sofa, watch TV, listen to radio, read the newspapers, all in parallel, and also try to have some work finally done, which is practically impossible given the distractions.
Which is your favorite building, park, museum, or public spot in Budapest? Martinovics hill, named after an anti-clerical, freemason, Jacobin ex-abbot, academic and secret agent. When he failed to gain the appreciation of the emperor, first he established a secret society fighting for constitutional monarchy and another one fighting for a republic, and, then, he exposed these organizations to the police, triggering the execution of the best talents of the country, including his own. And the view is nice, too.
