Originally established in 1615, the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy holds in high regards our cooperation with the Central European University. Both of our schools were founded on fundamental values, among them academic freedom, critical thinking, promotion of freedom of speech and respect for all members of the academic community. As a results ofthese shared values, CEU is a long-standing reliable partner of NaUKMA in multiple academic and research projects. Many Kyiv-Mohyla faculty members took part in world-class academic conferences and events held at CEU, and many NaUKMA graduates continue their graduate education at CEU. Some of these joint NaUKMA and CEU graduates have returned to Ukraine to serve in leading academic and administrative positions while others are positively influencing the development of Ukraine in business, public administration and the non- governmental sector. lt is because of common values and strong ties to Central European University that we are highly concerned with the current situation around CEU.
