CEU Alumna Kiss Co-authors Interdisciplinary Study in Science

Even though the study of the Middle Ages seems to have little in common with environmental policies, the interdisciplinary nature of the Medieval Studies Department enables alumni to get involved in the study of long-term ecological processes and thus contribute to understanding of present climatic fluctuations. Recently, an alumna of the Department, Andrea Kiss (MEDS MA’98, PhD’02), co-authored an article on how the climate change shifts the timing of floods, published in Science in August 2017. Kiss is a research fellow at the Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management at the Technical University of Vienna.
