The COST Targeted Network “The Voice of Research Administrators - Building a Network of Administrative Excellence – BESTPRAC” has been extended by 2 years by the European Commission.
CEU's Academic Cooperation and Research Support Office (ACRO) has been active in the network since the beginning including membership in its supervisory board. The network has provided funding for participation in its workshops and in week-long training events for over a dozen CEU administrators active in research management. The deliverables of the project to which ACRO staff contributed are a Wikipedia page defining what is research project management and a Financial Guidelines for European Grants managers. As soon as these go public later this year, ACRO will organize a dissemination event for Hungarian universities and research institutes.
COST Association President, Prof Dr Sierd Cloetingh highlighted to the audience of a conference the findings of an external review of BESTPRAC, which noted that it “has been a major development in the European research support capacity, a unique development. This will make a real impact into the future of H2020 and beyond and will be particularly beneficial to the less favoured regions and to early stage administrators in their professional development”.
