'Pagans and Christians' Book Co-Edited by CEU's Saghy Launched at University of Pecs

The book "Pagans and Christians in the Late Roman Empire: New Evidence, New Approaches," edited by Marianne Saghy, associate professor at the Department of Medieval Studies at CEU and Edward Schoolman of the University of Nevada, Reno, was launched at an event at the University of Pecs November 20. The book was published by CEU Press as part of the Medievalia series.

The event began with remarks by Professor Levente Nagy of the Department of History at Pecs, followed by a presentation of the book by CEU's Saghy, who also teaches at the Department of Medieval and Early Modern History at Eotvos Lorand University (ELTE) in Budapest.

Attendees included Gyorgy Heidl, a CEU alumnus (MEDS '97, PhD '00) who is head of the Department of Esthetics and Cultural Studies at the University of Pecs, and Professor Zsolt Visy of the Department of Archaeology at the University of Pecs, a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' committee examining the Seuso treasures.
