Professors Pete and Stipsicz Win Research Grants

Gabor Pete of the Alfred Renyi Institute of Mathematics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, who's also a visiting professor at CEU's Department of Mathematics and Its Applications, won a European research Council consolidator grant to carry out new research on noise sensitivity. The phenomenon that Pete will study originates in computer science, with applications from computational complexity theory to the design of computer chips.

Andras Stipsicz, research professor at the Alfred Renyi Institute of Mathematics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and director of the doctoral program at CEU's Department of Mathematics and Its Applications has won the Hungarian National Research, Development and Innovation Office's distinguished Elvonal research grant to study research grant to study knots, chains and complex singularities.
