Five of Central European University's academic programs were ranked among the top 100 in the world, and two others in the top 200, by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) in its global subject rankings, released February 28.
CEU was ranked among the top 100 in the world in the fields of Politics, Social Policy, Sociology, History, and Philosophy. The rankings represent an improvement in History, from the 101-150 spot last year. Furthermore, it received rankings in the top 200 in Economics and Law, the same level as in 2017.
In the broader subject areas, CEU ranks #172 in the world in Arts & Humanities, and #202 in Social Sciences & Management, according to QS. QS World University Rankings by Subject considers 1,130 institutions in 151 countries in 48 subjects annually.
CEU is not ranked in QS’ main rankings and those of other rankings organizations because it has no undergraduate programs, which are often a requirement for inclusion. Quacquarelli Symonds’ QS World University Rankings by Subject do not have such a requirement.
