CEU Campus Redevelopment Project Wins Civic Trust Award

Phase 1 of Central European University’s campus redevelopment project won both a Civic Trust Award and received the National Panel Special Award as the favorite scheme of the National Panel members from this year’s Civic Trust Awards winning projects. The award was received by architects  John Tuomey and Sheila O'Donnell, Teampannon, and the CEU Campus Redevelopment Office.

The winners were announced at the 59th Annual Civic Trust Awards Ceremony on March 9 at Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United Football Club. The Civic Trust Awards scheme, established in 1959, recognizes outstanding architecture, planning and design in the built environment.

The N15-13 buildings of the CEU campus, designed by Irish architecture firm O'Donnell & Tuomey, were praised as “the epitome of a Civic Trust Award Winner. An outstanding scheme, beautifully detailed and crafted, sensitive to its location, integrating superbly with its adjacent buildings.”
