Partnership Supports Business Innovators and Women in Tech

Melanie Seymour, Head of BlackRock Global Client Service and Head of BlackRock Budapest, and Central European University (CEU) President and Rector Michael Ignatieff signed a memorandum of understanding with BlackRock Hungary on June 13, 2019. The agreement is designed to facilitate future cooperation geared towards educating the next generation of finance and data analytics professionals. For students in CEU’s Departments of Economics and Business and Network and Data Science, this cooperation also will foster direct engagement with BlackRock through career opportunities, internships and capstone projects. In speaking about the relationship with CEU, Seymour described the institution as “linking very well with BlackRock’s principles and values.” Also announced at the signing were a commitment from BlackRock to support CEU’s Women in Technology Scholarship program and CEU’s inaugural Global Entrepreneurship and Startup Camp. In concluding the agreement, Rector Ignatieff praised Seymour for her long-standing commitment to higher education and for her efforts to promote women in the field of technology.
