The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the importance of free and independent media - particularly so as recent years have witnessed the erosion of press freedom and editorial independence globally.
As part of its celebration of World Press Freedom Day 2020, UNESCO is organizing a series of events, one of which will feature CEU's Marius Dragomir, Director of the Center for Media, Data and Society.
In a webinar scheduled for May 5, Dragomir will be joined by prominent journalists and civil society representatives. Together they will discuss the forthcoming UNESCO study “Reporting Facts: Free from Fear or Favor”, and the importance of press freedom and the threats to editorial independence in times of crisis.
