Presidential Lecture Series Features Robert Skidelsky on Economists and Capitalist Crisis: Different Perspectives and Current Relevance

On November 23, Central European University (CEU) hosted a Presidential Lecture featuring Emeritus Professor of Political Economy at the University of Warwick, Robert Skidelsky, on the topic of Economists and Capitalist Crisis: Different Perspectives and Current Relevance.

Following welcome remarks by CEU Rector and President, Michael Ignatieff, Skidelsky considered four economic explanations, each of which takes its name from a famous economist - Marxist, Schumpeterian, Keynesian, and Hayekian - to inquire which explanation or combination of explanations illuminate current phenomena.
