The recipients of this year’s Award for Advanced Doctoral Students as well as the Academic Achievement Award for First-Year Doctoral Students have been announced.
The Award for Advanced Doctoral Students is presented in recognition of outstanding student research and includes an 800 EUR prize. To be eligible, recipients must have completed a significant amount of research that serves as the basis for a scholarly presentation of their findings either in a draft chapter or paper, along with a GPA of at least 3.5 or one of the highest placements in their department.
The Academic Achievement Award for First-Year Doctoral Students in turn is presented to students who have completed outstanding coursework and performed exceptionally during the comprehensive exam, all while maintaining a GPA of at least 3.8 or one of the highest placements in their department. This award comes with a 500 EUR prize.
On behalf of the entire CEU community, CEU's Provost Liviu Matei congratulated the award winners, wishing them success in their future academic endeavors. "You are an inspiration for future graduate student cohorts and also for your supervisors and all faculty members of CEU," he said. "I am extremely impressed by the initiative, perseverance and depth of intellectual work you have shown, in particular in these trying times."
