From the various departments and degrees offered by CEU, I chose to enrolled in the Master of Human Rights program in the Department of Legal Studies, and I feel like I made a great decision.
Why?
Well, for a lot of reasons. So, without any delay, let’s dive right into the details.
Dedicated Faculty
Arriving from various countries, the professors in the Department of Legal Studies are full of knowledge with some great and notable degrees. Moreover, they are experts in their fields and are ready to help you by sharing their knowledge and answering any question you might have.
So, regardless of the professor who will be teaching you, you know that you will be full of knowledge and valuable information by the end of a course.
I would like to mention Professor Oswaldo Ruiz Chiriboga, who passed away in November, 2021, as he was a great professor who influenced me and opened my eyes to a lot of different ideas and concepts.
The professors are very encouraging and urge students to do better than before. In addition, they are very responsive and quickly reply to your emails with possible solutions.
Prompt Responses
What is the use of studying and enrolling in a program where you don’t even get a prompt response, right?
A reason why I appreciate my department is also because of the prompt responses. If you have any concerns or questions, you can email the coordinators, professors, chair or head of the department and you will get a quick response from them.
Problem instantly solved!
Intriguing and Fascinating Subjects
Going through the websites of different departments and universities, one of my primary concerns is the subjects. Are the subjects interesting, will I have fun opting for them, you know, questions like these.
Luckily, the Department of Legal Studies offers some amazing courses for its students. Teaching you about the legal systems that protect human rights worldwide, the subjects are just another positive point of this department. Another example would be the subject of law and technology, which grabbed my attention, and I am super excited to attend the classes.
Numerous Opportunities
Internships or job opportunities, there is no use in going to a school where you cannot get your hands on them.
This is not the case in the Department of Legal Studies, which offers you internship opportunities with some of the best organizations doing remarkable work.
All you need to do is submit your application, apply for these internship opportunities internally, and get placed to gain worthy experience.
Great Classmates
Last but not least is the concern of my classmates.
Because of the delays in my visa process, I took an entire semester online, which meant continuously bugging my classmates and asking them for help or about something that the professors said, which I could not hear because of the bad internet connection.
To my surprise, all of my classmates turned out to be a huge help.
When I needed them, they always asked them questions or guidance for an assignment. They arrived from different countries from all over the world, and I frankly feel blessed to have them by my side.
So, these were some of my top reasons for why my department is a great option to choose.
