Economics of Populism Series Features Adam Szeidl

On March 22, CEU Professor of Business and Economics, Adam Szeidl, presented the lecture "The Political Economy of Alternative Realities" as part of the "Economics of Populism" series organized by CEU's Department of Business and Economics and CIVICA.

The lecture focused on the widespread misbeliefs about climate change, Covid, the fairness of the 2020 US elections, etc., and how they combine into a semi-coherent alternative reality rife with conspiracy theories. Why do beliefs in such alternative realities emerge and persist, and what can we do about them?
