The most recent release from CEU Press is “Teaching ‘Race’ with a Gendered Edge,” edited by Brigitte Hipfl and Kristin Lofdottir. This collection of essays—part of the series “Teaching With Gender: European Women’s Studies in International and Interdisciplinary Classrooms”—approaches questions of race and racism from a feminist perspective, focusing on the intersections of race, class, and gender. The series is published jointly with ATGENDER, the European Association for Gender Research, Education and Documentation.
In November, CEU Press will publish “Saints of the Christianization Age of Central Europe (Tenth-Eleventh Centuries),” edited by Gabor Klaniczay, university professor of medieval studies at CEU. This sixth volume in the Central European Medieval Texts series reveals the Christianization of Bohemia, Poland, Hungary, and Dalmatia through stories of people who were instrumental in the process and went on to achieve sainthood.
CEU Press will publish “Constitution for a Disunited Nation: On Hungary’s 2011 Fundamental Law,” edited by Gabor Attila Toth, associate professor at the University of Debrecen, in November. Contributions to this comprehensive account of the law and its underlying principles include papers by CEU Professor of Political Science Janos Kis, Professor of Legal Studies Renata Uitz, Assistant Professor of Political Science Zoltan Miklosi, and SJD. candidate Zsolt Kortvelyesi.
CEU Press released a new book, “Capitalism from Outside? Economic Cultures in Eastern Europe after 1989,” edited by Violetta Zentai, director of CEU’s Center for Policy Studies; and Janos Matyas Kovacs, Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna. It offers empirically based insights on the recent cultural history of the Eastern European economies in three fields: entrepreneurship, state governance, and economic science.
