Frontiers of Democracy is a far-reaching CEU initiative that aims to promote open debate, discussion, and exchange of ideas with a diversity of views about the nature of democracy today. The present crisis is as serious as the Cuban missile crisis of 1962, said Professor Richard Sakwa at the Russia in Global Politics - Driving Values and Interests conference. Co-hosted by CEU’s Center for EU Enlargement Studies and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Budapest, the April 20 event was part of CEU’s Frontiers of Democracy series.

The Center for EU Enlargement Studies at CEU hosted the “Ukrainian Crisis: Security and Humanitarian Dimension” workshop on April 8. Working with experts from the ground, students offered ideas for conflict resolution and prepared for post-conflict scenarios in Ukraine.
