Human RightS Initiative and Sustainable CEU are organizing a banner making workshop and a meetup before next Friday's demonstration.
CEU received a final "very good" environmental assessment from the leading international sustainability organization.
Smart technologies and intelligent design that significantly lower energy consumption will be implemented on CEU’s new campus – this was the topic of the business forum “Invisible Building Intelligence” co-hosted by CEU Business School and the Embassy of Ireland on April 26.
Since 2010, CEU has been celebrating Earth Day in a variety of ways from hosting sustainability fairs to planting a friendship tree in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy and CEU's home district mayor. This year, nearly 20 volunteers gathered in CEU's Japanese Garden to give the area a good spring clean by weeding, repotting and planting new seedlings and young plants for the Edible Garden.
As part of CEU's weeklong celebration of Earth Day 2015, students and administrators created a community garden at the CEU Residence Center. At the April 23 event, members of the CEU community planted herbs, edible plants and flowers in the green space behind the dorm, located in Budapest's 10th district. Coriander, chive, rosemary, basil, strawberry, corn salad, rocket, thyme, lemon balm, chili peppers, seeds of sunflower, dill, roses, sunflowers, and hibiscus were available for students to plant.
CEU is committed to promoting environmentally conscious behavior and action, so the CEU community celebrates Earth Day 2015 with a series of informative and participatory events during the week of April 18-24. Events include volunteer opportunities, an informative presentation of the sustainable design elements of our campus redevelopment project, and a fix-it-yourself bicycle repair workshop.

CEU celebrated the 44th installment of Earth Day, the annual global day of environmental activism, by holding an informal celebration in the University's new edible garden on April 23. In order to gather support for and build knowledge and capacity for managing the future rooftop garden that will be incorporated into CEU's redeveloped campus, volunteers created a portable, edible garden in CEU's existing Japanese Garden.
Sustainable CEU is participating in the Creative Recycling Eco-Educational Program, a project that brings together four environmental organizations in Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
