At Central European University, our community is our greatest asset – and our greatest priority. We are closely monitoring and following advice from Hungarian and Austrian authorities as well as the World Health Organization.
As of June 15, Covid-19: Vienna-Quellenstrasse 51 remains shut; Budapest-Nador complex has a phased reopening. These are the two main headlines regarding assess to CEU's campuses. In more detail, CEU has begun a phased reopening of its Budapest campus. As the Vienna campus is undergoing refurbishment, access is restricted to employees, and for essential work only in offices and areas not affected by refurbishment.
Employees who can work from home are encouraged to continue to do so. In the first phase of reopening, as of June 15, PhD and MA students have limited access to the Budapest campus for specific purposes. Strict hygiene protocols apply to all facilities of both campuses and social distancing must be observed.
Our duty of care to all of our community is absolute. By continuing to support home office for the majority of our employees, and by providing guidelines and hygiene protocols at all designated entry points to our premises, at registration, record-keeping, etc. for those students, faculty and staff who DO need to be onsite, we'll continue to keep this community safe over the summer.
