Some of you have written to the university directly and/or on social media platforms to seek answers about the impact of Covid-19 on the launch of the next academic year.
Please be assured that CEU will be in operation next fall. We want you to be able to fulfill your ambitions to join CEU and start your studies with us in a supportive environment. That is why we are undertaking detailed planning for the coming academic year, to ensure that you can begin your studies at CEU with as little disruption as possible.
We have a task force comprised of the university’s most senior faculty reviewing term dates, modes of study and the status of visa formalities for the next academic year 2020-21. We will discuss their recommendations at CEU’s Academic Forum and at the Senate, the university’s highest academic body, by the end of May.
You are all without doubt highly talented students. That is why you have been offered your place to study with us. The world has changed in just a few weeks and now we all need to use our intellect and resourcefulness to take on the challenges ahead. I will be in touch with you again—at the end of May—to update you on the precise details of our academic plan for next year.
In the meantime, stay safe and stay strong,
President and Rector
Central European University
