Environment and development. How can the new Global Goals help us achieve both?

Abstract: Environment and development was for too long seen as two separate issues. This is nonsense. What is good for the environment is almost always good for the humans. The new United Nations Sustainable Development Goals merge environment and development together. This is a historical “first”. The world will come together to eradicate poverty and promote development without destroying the planet. Humanity now for the first time ever has the knowledge and resources needed to end poverty and green our economies. We just need to identify policies that work and implement these on a global scale. Coalitions for actions are needed!
