Travel Insurance for Students in Hungary

BCD Travel Agency is solely available online from March 12, 2020 at bcdtravel@ceu.edu

Enrolled students who plan to travel abroad during their studies are strongly recommended to buy travel insurance as the CEU Health Insurance Plan provided by Generali is valid only within the territory of Hungary and the CEU Health Insurance Plan provided by Uniqa (Feelsafe) is valid within the territory of EEA (only for short travels).

The travel insurance plan (available at CEU's premises) valid worldwide - except in Hungary and the applicant's home country - costs 275 HUF/day. For more information please consult the terms and conditions and the service table.

COVID-19 epidemic claims (only available in Hungarian language)
In the countries of the European Union, the general exclusion according to which "the Insurer does not provide services for the damages incurred in connection with the epidemics" is NOT applied.

To purchase and activate the travel insurance coverage, the student must be present in Hungary since the contract cannot be activated from abroad or online. Extension of the existing coverage is possible online with the prior confirmation of/agreement with the insurance company with the coordination of BCD Travel.

For EEA students with a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), the medically necessary and emergency treatments are free of charge in the EU zone.

In case you own a credit card, check whether travel insurance is included in the credit card agreements before you compare the different travel insurance.
