Central European University (CEU) invites applications for eight new fully funded interdisciplinary Joint PhD Fellowships starting in the 2020/2021 academic year. The joint PhD Fellowship entails supervision by expert faculty members from at least two CEU academic units, who are already engaged in ongoing research in the designated thematic areas, and a CEU Doctoral Scholarship.
The Joint PhD Fellowships are funded by the CEU Intellectual Themes Initiative and offered in the following thematic areas in 2020/2021 academic year:
- Interbank networks and the multilayer structure of economic-financial transactions - A collaboration between Department of Economics and Business and Department of Network Science. Two Fellowships available: one for PhD program in Economics and one for PhD in Network Science.
- Populism, Nationalism, and Authoritarianism: Mobilization Strategies and Discursive Repertoires - A collaboration of three units: Department of History, Doctoral School of Political Science, International Relations and Public Policy, and Nationalism Studies Program. Two fellowships are available: one for the PhD program in Political Science and one for the PhD program in Comparative History.
- Sustainable Heritage in a Dynamic Environment: Critical Approaches to the Conservation of Cultural and Natural Heritage - A collaboration between Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy and Department of Medieval Studies/Cultural Heritage Studies Program. Two Fellowships available: one for PhD program in Environmental Sciences and Policy and one for PhD program in Late Antique, Medieval and Early Modern Studies.
- Understanding Humanity – A collaboration between Department of Philosophy and Department of History. Two Fellowships available: one for PhD program in Philosophy and one for PhD in Comparative History.
