CEU is seeking applications for the position of Alumni Engagement Officer for the Alumni Relations Office. This is a multifaceted and key role within the Alumni Relations team. The main objective is to help CEU maintain and develop relationships with a global community of over 18,000 alumni through relevant, targeted, and timely engagement that supports CEU’s strategic goals.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Content creation: writing pages and articles for the alumni website and social media, including alumni news items and profiles
  • Alumni storytelling – reporting, publishing, and sharing alumni stories via web, social media and direct mail, including special projects (e.g. Alumni Impact Award)
  • Creating branded imagery for web, social and direct messaging for events, campaigns, and print
  • Writing, segmenting, and sending direct email campaigns on behalf of the Alumni Relations Office (ARO), academic departments and the Rectorate, via a mass email marketing platform, including fundraising appeals, volunteer engagement campaigns, crisis communications etc.
  • Managing the CEU ARO website for the alumni audience and the ARO SharePoint for internal CEU audience
  • Managing a monthly communications calendar, including main messages and posting to and managing ARO Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.
  • Monitoring and analytics of direct messages, the website (via Google analytics) and social media (onboard) and keeping statistics
  • Establishing, building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally, regionally, and internationally
  • Supporting the organizing of special events, including the annual Reunion, as well as other local and international networking events and outreach activities
  • Liaising with CEU departments and units regarding alumni-related campaigns

Qualifications:

  • University degree
  • Strong written, planning and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask, with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with mailing software (e.g. MailChimp) Photoshop and Indesign
  • Experience in alumni relations and/or donor relations is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with colleagues on the team, throughout the University, alumni, students and other constituents
  • High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
  • A calm, outgoing, stable personality, with a good sense of humor

Compensation:
Commensurate with experience. CEU does offer a competitive salary, as well as a dynamic and international working environment. The initial contract is for one year with the possibility of renewal.
