Starting date :
August 1, 2022

Central European University (CEU) is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor position in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. The position will offer an internationally competitive teaching load, a generous research start-up package, and a university environment that fosters multidisciplinary collaboration and research productivity. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in doctoral supervision as well as teach the core innovation and entrepreneurship module in the university’s Executive MBA. The successful candidate could also benefit from involvement with the iLab by using it as a rich source of empirical research data. While we are open to the exact areas of research interest, we are especially interested in candidates who have research and teaching interests in the following areas:

  • Social Entrepreneurship
  • Social Innovation
  • Entrepreneurship and innovation in underserved populations

Candidate Attributes

In particular, successful candidates should be able to contribute to a multidisciplinary program for fostering entrepreneurship and innovation research and teaching through links with industry and local communities. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in a relevant field by the beginning of the appointment (i.e., August 2022). The successful applicant will also possess:

  • Clear potential and commitment to scholarly research in the field through a demonstrated pipeline of published, submitted and working papers in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence and course development (preferably in the North American university and higher education context).
  • Ability to combine research productivity with involvement in program development.

We offer a competitive yearly salary of 60.000 EUR, commensurate with experience as well as additional benefits (e.g. pension plan). The initial contract is for six years. Contracts are renewable and can be turned into indefinite contracts depending on outcome of review.
