The Center for Religious Studies (CRS) is a cross-departmental unit whose mission to initiate and to coordinate research, academic events, and publications that address religion-related questions in critical ways. CRS collaborates its teaching activities with eleven partner departments and academic units at CEU. With its institutional contacts in the region and internationally, CRS provides an important site for academic research and communication. CEU's Advanced Certificate in Religious Studies is registered with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and the CRS oversees the involvement of approximately 30 CEU students a year, from 11 partner departments, in this program.

The Coordinator in Vienna assists the Director and CRS Center Coordinator in managing the on-site events and people facing (faculty and student) interaction of the Center on the Vienna Campus. The coordinator’s tasks include booking lecture rooms on Eventspro, catering and other necessary services, creating promotional material for events (posters, videos, etc.), supervising on-site and technical logistics for lectures, seminars, conferences, and workshops and with the assistance of the IT team. The coordinator may also assist the CRS coordinator with other tasks related to CEU student and faculty as well as supporting on-site interns and visiting research fellows or associates hosted by the Center in Vienna.

Specific tasks include:

  • Keeping stock of office supplies
  • Answering phone calls and emails, as necessary
  • Organizing events
  • Assisting with common email account
  • Booking rooms when necessary
  • Arranging catering for events
  • Managing agendas/travel arrangements/appointments
  • Taking meeting notes and writing up summaries, as necessary
  • Managing events, and receptions and looking after participants
  • Assisting in purchase orders and invoicing
  • Assisting students and faculty
  • Photocopying, printing, and filing appropriate promotional material and documents, as needed

The successful applicant has the following skills and proficiency:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years demonstrated work experience in a similar position is required
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Previous administrative experience
  • Ability and interest to work with a multi-national academic environment in a culturally sensitive and collegial manner
  • Strong communication and diplomacy skills
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to engage in teamwork
  • Software proficiency (MS Word, Excel, SAP experience is an advantage);

Compensation:
We offer a gross annual salary of 10,400 EUR, as well as a dynamic and international academic environment.
The initial contract is for 1 year with a possibility of renewal.
